American Heart Association ACLS-Renewal

For students who have already taken an ACLS class in the past.  All are welcome.  You do not need to be a Kaiser employee.

Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.  This course emphasizes the:

• importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival
• integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
• importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation

The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.

Audience: For healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care, and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

Course Content:

• 1and 2 rescuer CPR, AED
• Defibrillation
• Airway management
• Rhythm recognition
• IV/IO access
• Use of medications
• Cardioversion
• Transcutaneous pacing
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

Card Type:  American Heart Association ACLS Provider certification card.  Students receive their cards within 24-36 hours after the class. If you need it faster just let us know.  Class Length:  Day 1 9am -2pm (see this specific course dates and times listed for your exact couse start times as they do vary)

Materials:  A CURRENT ACLS Provider Manual and the ACLS Pre-test, found  at https://elearning.heart.org/course/424 is a requirement for class. 

Students can choose to include the manual while registering. 

Students who elect to pick up their book must do so before class in order to properly prepare.  Books are picked up from the Alexandria office or shipped.
