PALS Renewal: CLASSROOM BASED (Tyson's Corner)

The American Heart Association PALS Renewal course gives healthcare professionals the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. 
The course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest. 
The course covers treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and goes through stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency, in or out of the hospital.

Course Content:

• Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardio-pulmonary arrest
• The systematic approach to pediatric assessment
• Effective respiratory management
• Validate skills for 1- and 2-person CPR and AED skills for infant  and child
• Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion
• Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

CertificationAmerican Heart Association PALS Provider Course Completion eCard valid for two years.
Students receive their cards by email within 2-3 business days of the class.

 Our Kaiser Tyson's Training Site is located in the Kaiser Permanente Tyson's building.  There is free and easy parking in the Visitor garage.  There is a small coffee shop on the ground floor. 

Parking Tip: Try the second floor of the parking garage.   

Materials:  A PALS Provider manual and the pretest are requirements for class.  Books can be picked up at the Alexandria office. 

You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one here. Please choose from the following optional items:
